Workington Reds will take on Cleator Moor Celtic in the next round of the County Cup early next year.

Celtic, who defeated a youthful Carlisle United side earlier in the year, will travel to Borough Park for the quarter-final tie which has to be played on or before February 25.

And Reds general manager Derek Townsley admitted it would be a tricky tie for them.

"We are pleased to have a home draw but it is one of the trickier ties that were left," said Townsley, whose side lifted the trophy at the end of last season.

"It is a game that we won't be taking lightly. We know that they will be keen and very much up for the game.

"We saw that in the previous round with Frizington Whitestar who upped their game when they played us.

"So it will be difficult but it is a competition we want to do well in.

Celtic dumped Carlisle out of the competition 2-0 back in October, with goals from Stuart Shaw and Leigh Dunn.

And their manager Dene White said at the time he was targeting a run in the Cumberland Cup, after seeing off one of the favourites.

He said: "I said at the start to the players, I want to be in as many competitions as we can come May.

"We want to be in this as much as anyone else."

The remaining quarter-final ties see Silloth host Penrith, Netherhall travel to Carlisle City and Pirelli welcome Whitehaven Amateurs.

Reds are looking to get their league season back on track this Saturday when they welcome Coalville Town to Borough Park.

Workington have lost their last two games in the league, going down 5-0 and 2-0 to Stourbridge and Hednesford respectively.

But they will welcome back Conor Tinnion this weekend after he served a one-match suspension.
