Workington are now unbeaten in their last four games, with three straight victories.

A 1-0 win at Skelmersdale lifted Reds to 13th in the table but only three points off the play-off positions.

Joint-manager Dave Hewson admitted it hadn’t been a particularly impressive performance with the points settled by a Dave Symington penalty.

“I thought we weren’t at it in the first-half and Skelmersdale posed a few problem. It was better in the second half and the lads all worked hard to get the result. It’s not bad when you win and know you haven’t played well.”
