Cumbrian prop Lee Mossop is waiting to find out the extent of a shoulder injury that forced him to leave the field against Leigh at the weekend.

The Wigan Warriors star came off just before half time and coach Shaun Wane has said they will have to wait until the swelling has gone down before they know how bad the problem is.

Mossop, whose brother Jason plays for Workington Town, has had a lot of problems with his shoulders in the past, having had several operations.

He only played three games in the NRL for Parramatta  due to injury woes before returning to Wigan.

Wane said: “We’re hoping it’s not too bad, we’ll know more in a few days. It’s not the type of injury he’s had before, it was more of a stinger at the back of the shoulder, so hopefully he’ll be fine.”
