West Cumbrian sides will be waiting with bated breath tonight to see who they will draw in the opening round of this year's Ladbrokes Challenge Cup.

National Conference League clubs Wath Brow Hornets, Egremont Rangers and Kells will all be in the hat, along with Cumbria Men's League champions Distington.

This is only the second time that Distington have featured in the prestigious competition.

The draw will be made tonight by Hull FC and Ladbrokes Challenge Cup winning coach Lee Radford, along with RFL President, Air Commodore Dean Andrew.

It will start at 7pm at The Deep in Hull with 32 sides entering into the first round. They will form the first two rounds of the 2017 competition, which will be played on January 28-29 and February 11-12.

The allocated numbers for local sides are: Distingon (3), Egremont (4), Kells (11), Wath Brow (27).

League One clubs including Workington Town, Whitehaven and Barrow will enter the fray in the third round.
