Miller misses England U20 grand slam chance

CUMBRIAN star Robert Miller will miss out on further helping England U20 go for a grand slam in the U20 Six Nations later today.
But Miller is instead in contention to make his Guinness Premiership debut when Newcastle take on Bristol on Sunday.
The former Aspatria and Keswick fly-half was recalled from the England camp after last Friday’s victory over Scotland.
Possible selection for a premiership game is the only circumstances in which Newcastle could insist on Miller’s return.
Newcastle’s media manager Mark Smith told Times & Star Sport that Miller has trained with the club’s premiership squad all week.
Against Scotland last Friday, Miller made his first start for England U20, played the whole game and landed two conversions.
The 41-15 win over Scotland means England just need to beat Ireland at Gloucester this evening to claim the U20 grand slam.
England opened strongly against Scotland, scoring four converted tries - two of the conversions kicked by Miller - plus a penalty in the first half.
England, though, were forced to dig deep in the second half when Scotland scored almost immediately but then didn’t have the physical strength to really trouble England.
England went into the game with three impressive wins already behind them over Wales (28-15), Italy (22-13) and France (24-6), with Miller appearing as a replacement in the last two internationals.
