Keswick made it two wins from two in the Cumbria League as they hammered Carlisle Crusaders 30-5 on Saturday.

Elsewhere, Penrith A XV beat Creighton 39-8, Moresby beat Wigton Wanderers 94-0, Workington beat Furness 46-6, Millom beat Windermere 21-7 and Egremont thrased Kendal 2nd Xv 56-12.

Aspatria also picked up their second win of the season in the North Lancs/Cumbria League as they beat De La Salle 20-10.

A much-changed side, with Marc Haycock and Jason Ward already unavailable, suffered a further blow in the warm-up when winger Lee Tinnion pulled up with a leg injury.

De La Salle took a 3-0 lead with a penalty and then went further ahead on 30 minutes with a slick try.

A couple of penalties brought Aspatria back into the game and James Ravell powered over in the corner.

Jack Clegg kicked a touchline conversion for a half-time score of 10-7 in De La Salle’s favour.

The second half started with Aspatria moving into De La Salle’s half and refusing to budge.

The pack took control and Aspatria came close on three occasions.

Under the cosh, the lid flew off the pressure cooker and De La Salle were shown a yellow card for persistent infringement.

At the next play a melee erupted and a second home player was carded and, for his involvement in the developing fracas, the first recipient of the yellow card saw it upgraded to a red.

With the home side reduced to 13 men Aspatria opted for a catch and drive which allowed Liam Ridley to go over for a 12-10 lead.

A penalty on 73 minutes from Clegg opened the gap and Greg Dickinson secured the win as he charged down a kick, picked the ball up, and raced the length of the field to score giving Aspatria a clear 20-10 lead which they held on to.

Meanwhile, Silloth Tigers made it two wins from two at the start of their North Lancs/Cumbria League campaign with a 41-10 victory over Aldwinians.
