Cut-price Donny game

WORKINGTON Town have slashed their prices for tonight’s game with promotion chasing Doncaster.

The club has named tonight’s game Friday Night is Fans Night in an attempt to get more people through the gates.

Town’s average home gate is just 750 but tickets for the game tonight are: £6 Grandstand, £5 ground and £3 for children.

Town have also combined with their sponsor Coors Brewers to put on a special drinks promotion.

From 6pm until kick off (8pm) lager and bitter will be only £1.50 per pint and there will also be Fletchers Amusements fairground outside Derwent Park.

Town’s Neil Frazer is to have a back operation in the next fortnight in a bid to save his career.

The former Seaton amateur Frazer, 32, who is in his eighth season at Derwent Park, played his last game for Town in December in the Ike Southward Memorial game against Haven.

He said: “I'm relieved that I now know what the problem is and can get it sorted out. I thought it was a calf problem at first as the pain was down one side of my leg.”

Unbeaten Doncaster are second in NL2, just one point off the top and league legend Ellery Hanley has told his Doncaster squad to cut their way through the league.
