Try-scoring machine Joe Hambley has made a berth in the Workington Town three-quarter line his own this season says coach Dave Clark.

Hambley has racked up 17 touchdowns so far in League 1 this term, sitting fifth in the leading try scorer chart.

And after crossing the whitewash again at York last Sunday the flying centre continued his fine form, although Town could not overcome their hosts.

Clark has impressed with Hambley's form and says he is a crucial part of the team.

"This has been a great season for him, I have coached him before so I know his potential and he means a lot to our team," said Clark.

"He knows how to finish and he certainly knows where the try line is and he works hard to get there.

"He is still just young and learning so he improves with every game and it is great for him to get some reward in the scoring charts for his efforts.

"This season he has gone out and made the position his own."

And everyone hopes Hambley can continue his try scoring form against Doncaster at Derwent Park tomorrow, ko 3pm.

Their opponents turned over West Cumbrian rivals Whitehaven last weekend but Town have the home advantage and want to build on their second half performance against York last Sunday.

Kris Coward is set to play his first game for nearly four months after undergoing a knee clean-out operation.

Gordon Maudling will also return after recovering from fluid on his knee.

And in even better news for Town, in-form prop Stevie Scholey is named in Dave Clark's squad, after worries over a shoulder injury through the week.

Town: Ritson, Hambley, Rasool, Mossop, Fell, Forber, Doran, Curwen, Howarth, Scholey, B Philips, Davies, Singleton, C Philips, Fitzsimmons, Joseph, Coward, Maudling, Moore, Lister.
