WHITEHAVEN won the crunch Championship West Cumbrian derby against Workington Town by just four points.
In a tense finale Workington threw everything at their rivals but could not get over the try line and Haven edged home 24-28.
Town were out of the blocks quickest and were leading 8-0 when Haven fought back and took in a half time lead of 16-8.
And Haven continued to push in the second half to extend their lead out to 28 before Town hit back.
But in the end it was not enough as they were four points short at the close.
This means Haven and Town are still in the two relegation berths on 13 points with Town just ahead on points difference.
