Strong-running forward Alex Szostak has signed a new deal with Workington Town for 2017.

The former Scottish international has pledged his allegiance to the Town cause in League One next season.

And the 6ft 2in second rower is raring to go under the guidance of new boss Dave Clark.

He said: "I’m raring to go. I can’t wait to get into pre-season and I’m excited to be part of the club's plans for a mix of playing experience and younger talent.

"The fans here at Workington are second to none and are so passionate about their rugby.

"I hope that I can help the coaching team by passing on my experience and knowledge to the and look forward to the new season in League One."

Everyone at the club is delighted that Szostak will add his wealth of experience to the side.

He is renowned for his hard tackling and solid defence and has experience in all divisions of the Rugby Football League.
