Workington Town prop forward Marc Shackley picked up the Player of the Year Award for the second year running at the club’s presentation evening.

Shackley received 33 per cent of the votes and was jointly named as Workington Ladies Support Group Player of the Year alongside Aussie second-row Jarrad Stack who also picked up the highly coveted Player of the Year Award.

Stack was second in the running for the Player of the Year Award with 22 per cent of the votes and Jarrod Sammut came third with 18 per cent.

Brett Phillips, heading into his fifth year with the club, was named as both Players Player of the Year and Coaches Player of the Year.

Half-back Jarrod Sammut, who signed a short-term deal at Zebra Claims Stadium in the second half of the season, was named as the club’s Most Influential Player.

Youngster Tee Ritson was awarded the Frank Gilmour Memorial Shield after being named as Directors’ Clubman of the Year.

Two of Town’s signings for 2015 also picked up awards with Sam Forrester, who made the step up from amateur club Maryport, being awarded the Eric Easterbrook Trophy for Most Improved Player.

Tom Walker, who Town signed from Warrington Wolves in January, won the Fred Todhunter Memorial Trophy after being named as the Travellers Rest Supporters Club Player of the Year.

Back-row forward Karl Olstrum was named as the Red House Supporters Club Player of the Year.

Half-back Carl Forber was the club’s Top Points Scorer in 2015 after scoring 140 points - 58 goals and six tries.

Winger Elliot Miller scored 12 tries, making him the Top Try Scorer and he also scored the Try of the Year for his first-minute try against new club Whitehaven in Town’s 60-20 win in the Super 8s.
