A determined effort from a 12-man Workington Town sealed victory in the West Cumbrian derby.

A try with two seconds remaining from Jason Mossop levelled the score with Whitehaven at 28-28.

This left Jarrod Sammut with a touchline conversion to win the game for the second week running and he duly obliged to send the home fans wild.

It was a full-blooded West Cumbrian clash with Karl Olstrom receiving a red card after just seven minutes.

But Haven failed to truly capitalise on their extra man advantage.

Dave Allen put n a superb performance in the middle of the park for Haven but n the end it was not enough as Town snatched the vital Championship points at the death.
