Phil Veivers has some big decisions to make as he prepares for the visit of Batley on Sunday.

The Workington Town boss has just two players left on the treatment table, as long-term absentee Latu Fifita also joined the ranks up for selection for the Championship clash at the Zebra Claims Stadium.

Veivers is looking to kick on after his side picked up their second win of the term at Sheffield last Saturday and he says there is a lot of competition for places in camp.

"Latu has been training really hard and has put his hand up for selection," said Veivers.

"As has Alex Szostak, Ryan Verlinden and everyone else who didn't play last week apart from Karl Olstrom and possibly Brett Carter, who are still injured.

"They all have their hands up, desperate to get a chance to take that shirt off the next man's back.

"It gives me some headaches and I will upset some people and not everyone agrees with the coach's decision."

Veivers admitted he was still keeping his eyes open for at least one more addition to the ranks as the season progresses.

"I'm always looking for that little edge we can get over the opposition," said Veivers.

"There is a fine balance though on who we bring in. I don't want to upset the squad we have got and if they are performing then I don't need to look elsewhere.

"But if I see somebody on a long term loan until the end of the season that I think will improve us then I would be interested."

Batley are heading to Workington on the back of a win over Halifax last weekend, putting an end to a four-match losing streak.

And Veivers knows this will be a tough test, before heading to Blackpool the following weekend to take on local rivals Haven at Summer Bash.
