Workington Town boss Phil Veivers could be running the rule over a couple more Salford youngsters as he looks to turn his side's fortunes around.

Veivers admits it has been tough to find loan players, with many of the Super League clubs already in dual registration agreements or suffering injuries themselves.

After bringing Matt Gee in from Salford, Veivers says he might take a look at a couple of others, ahead of the Bradford game a week on Sunday.

"There might be another couple of bodies available from Salford so I might go and have a look," said Veivers.

"They have a couple of young lads who will be playing first grade this weekend so I might go and watch and see if they will benefit us."

Veivers had praise for Gee, who went straight into action at the Zebra Claims Stadium last Sunday, and played 80 minutes in the loss at the hands of Featherstone.

"I thought he was pretty strong defensively and I moved him out to the left centre when Jason Mossop got injured and I thought he handled it okay," added Veivers.

"That shows his versatility and it is another step up for him from the rugby he was playing in Championship One.

"I think he can only get better in his next game."

Town have no game this weekend but Veivers has had the players in training during the week.

"I will probably give them the weekend off and then we can get ready to ramp it up for the Bradford game," he said.

"Obviously there are issues we need to address and get right before then but we had a good turnout on Tuesday night and a productive session."
