Wath Brow Hornets stay fourth after easy win

Wath Brow Hornets 40 York Acorn 0: Wath Brow remain in fourth place in the National Conference League Premier Division after a one-sided victory over visitors York Acorn.

The Hornets were always in command in this clash as York struggled to contain the pacy West Cumbrian outfit.

Gary Elliott opened the scoring for Wath Brow in just the fourth minute, with Ryan Robb converting for a 6-0 lead.

Then Elliott turned provider as he put Dave Pettitt in at the corner and soon Wath Brow had racked up a 22-0 lead at the break.

There was a second try for Elliott and Mal Caton also touched down after good work from Dave Currie, Robb converted both.

Into the second half and Wath Brow continued the way they had left off with Graham Lupton going over just minutes after Robb had landed a penalty.

Kyle Lofthouse and Micky McAllister also got over the whitewash in the latter stages, with Robb finishing with six goals to his name.

Wath Brow are back on the road next Saturday, when they travel to third placed Skirlaugh in what will be a very tough encounter.
