Wednesday school closure

The following school is closed today - Wednesday - due to a power failure.
Netherhall School, Maryport - A-level students should still attend
The following schools were closed on Tuesday due to the cold weather:
Blackford CE primary (due to heating repairs)
Ewanrigg junior, Maryport (due to a gas leak and subsequent repairs)
Haltwhistle Community Campus (upper and lower)
Mayfield, Whitehaven
St Bees pre-school
St Bees primary
St Benedict's, Whitehaven (open for years 10, 11, 12 and 13)
Waberthwaite (closed this morning due to "local conditions")
Whitehaven (open for years 10, 11 and the 6th form)
The following schools were closed on Monday due to snow:
Asby Endowed School - closing 2pm due to snow
Brough
Dent
Ennerdale and Kinniside primary
Frizington primary
Gosforth CE primary
Holme Cultram Abbey School, Abbeytown (closed due to lack of heating)
Kirkby Stephen primary
Kirkby Stephen grammar
Lamplugh
Mayfield, Whitehaven
Milburn primary, near Appleby - closed at 12.30pm due to snowy conditions
Northside, Workington
Oughterside (notification received 1.24pm)
Ravenstonedale
St Benedict's, Whitehaven
Thornhill
Warcop CE primary
West Lakes Academy, Egremont (open to exam students)
Whitehaven (all adult education classes also cancelled)
In addition, coaches are not picking up Cockermouth School pupils from Sunderland, Blindcrake and Redmain. Pupils who live in Uldale and Ruthwaite and go to Nelson Thomlinson School, Wigton, are also not being picked up this morning.
Wright Bros are not picking up school pupils in Alston; Keith Brown coach services are not running to Castle Carrock school.
Other info:
The A66 between Brough and Bowes is closed because of snow.
Buses are replacing Northern Rail trains between Carlisle and Skipton.

After plouhing my way through all these comments I am beginning to wonder how parents can leave their children 5 days a week in the care of teachers (who are actually people) they so obviously have no thought or respect for.
Maybe these same people could do the job better themselves - there is such a thing as "home-schooling" in which case it wouldn't matter if it snowed purple.
But, I forgot, you need to get a break and a little job yourselves.

@martin - I work on the rail and got up at 0300hrs to allow time to walk through the snow to get to work to ensure public transport was kept going. And what do I get, abuse from the public when a train is a minute late. There have been no services on my stretch of line cancelled because of snow for a long time now.
I would walk to school through deeper snow than we've had recently, teachers would make the effort too. Now everyone sits around hoping for a 'snow day', no wonder the country is going down the pan.@Milligan no one praises me for doing my job and I don't expect them too, I get paid to do it. Why should we praise teachers for doing their jobs?
@A Teacher - "I arrive at school at 8.30am and leave at 3.30pm every day" Wow, you work 365 days a year, I bow to your dedication.
