LONDON alt rock quartet Chapter and Verse are joined by local outfit Youth Salute for a live appearance in Workington this month.

The highly-rated outfit are warming up for a nationwide tour with a weekend of headline dates, including Lounge 41 on Friday October 27.

Relative newcomers, Chapter and Verse emerged last year with their debut EP, The Wolves Back Home, which earned them rave reviews in the national music press.

Traversing post-hardcore and mainstream rock, they cite the likes of Circa Survive and Saosin as major influences, but their first release also drew comparisons to the likes of Biffy Clyro and Mallory Knox.

The four-piece outfit - comprising vocalist Josh Carter, guitarist Darren Gosling, bassist Jonny Hopwood and drummer Ash Morton - have been playing shows alongside the likes of Dead! and Grumble Bee this summer, and are set to hit the road with acclaimed Canadian trio Courage My Love next month.

Youth Salute will be providing support on the night, in what is likely to be their last live appearance of the year.

They followed up last year's well-received Carve EP with a new single, Bore, in August, showcasing their new, slimmed-down, three-man line-up.

Their biggest gigs in 2017 have taken them to major Cumbrian events such as Solfest, and the hugely successful hometown festival, Touch Down.

This free show at Lounge 41 on Friday 27 gets under way at 9pm.
