Whoops! BBC misplaces Hexham Abbey

The Antiques Roadtrip has provided some welcome publicity to local traders, but managed to put historic Hexham in the wrong town.

Antiques Roadtrip presenter David Barby leaves Hilary's Antiques in Brampton with a bargain

Presenters Anita Manning and David Barby were seen visiting antiques shops in Brampton as well as selling items at a Carlisle auction.

The ideas is that each expert has a starting budget of £200. From this they will try to continually trade up so that they increase their profits every time they sell at auction.

But despite their attention to detail and the programmes aim to "paint a portrait of Britain" the Beeb managed to show a shot of Hexham Abbey in it's introduction to "Bonny Brampton".

The show is worth catching on the BBC iplayer though and next week it returns to the Lake District.
