Workington Reds boss may turn to Carlisle Utd for help

Workington Reds manager Darren Edmondson revealed he may turn to Carlisle United again for loan players next season after being impressed with the Blues youngsters in last night’s 5-0 reverse at Borough Park.

Teenage striker Mark Beck, who was on loan at Reds last season, scored United’s opening goal, before fellow Brunton babe David Symington hit two goals against his home-town club just after the break. Danny Cadamarteri and Andy Welsh were also on target.

Edmondson said: “I would prefer to have my own squad but if the finances aren’t there it’s a case of keeping an eye on those boys.

“I’ve a great relationship with Greg so if we can get some players that would be great, but ideally I would like my own guys in.”
