THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (VARIOUS ROADS IN THE SOUTH LAKELAND AREA) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) (NO.4) ORDER 2020
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Cumbria Highways to carry out resurfacing works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the lengths of road specified in the attached Schedule.
Suitable diversion routes will be indicated on site by the display of relevant traffic signs as and when the temporary closures are in force.
Phased works will not necessarily be done in numerical order.
Cumbria Highways will ensure that local residents and the general public are informed of which roads are to be closed and when, nearer the time.
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
1. Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and

2. Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and

3. Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the roads; and

4. Apply to vehicles being used in connection with the Works.

The Order will come into operation on 27 July 2020 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for 3 months in total and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

EXTENT OF RESTRICTIONS AND ALTERNATIVE ROUTES
1. Queen Street, Ulverston - approx. duration 1 day
From its junction with County Road extending in a northern direction to its junction with Theatre Street Alternative route: via County Road, Brewery Street, Fountain Street, King Street and the unrestricted section of Queen Street
2. Silver Street, Staveley - approx. duration 2 nights
From its junction with Windermere Road extending in a northerly direction to its junction with Brow Lane. Alternative route: via Windermere Road and Brow Lane.
3. Guard Hill Lane & Keasdale Road, Sandside - approx. duration 3 days

(i) Guard Hill Lane: From its junction with Park Road extending in a south easterly then easterly direction for approx. 380m.

(ii) Keasdale Road: From Its junction with Guard Hill Lane extending in a southerly, north westerly then south westerly direction for a total of approx. 320m.
Alternative route: via the unrestricted section of Keasdale Road and Park Road.
4. Langdale Crescent, Kendal - approx. duration 3 days
From its junction with Whinfell Drive extending for its entire to its junctions with Rydal Road and Whinfell Road. Alternative route: via Whinfell Road and Rydal Road.
5. Lowther Park & Willow Drive, Kendal - approx. duration 2 days

(i) Lowther Parte From its junction with Willow Drive extending in a northerly direction for approx 165m.

(ii) Willow Drive: From its junction with Lowther Park extending in an easterly direction for approx. 30m. Alternative route: via Larch Road and the unrestricted section of Willow Drive.
N.B. Access for local residents of Lowther Park will be maintained where possible.
6. U5089 High Ghyil, Kirkby in Furness - approx. duration 2 days
From a point approx. 90m north east of its junction with Low Ghyil House extending in a north easterly then south westerly direction for approx. 385m. No alternative route available.
7. U5098 Old Hall Road, Ulverston - approx. duration 2 days
From its junction with Mowing's Lane extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 450m. Alternative route: via the unrestricted section of the U5098, U5099, and B5281.
8. U5382 Low Relds Lane, Barton - approx. duration 2 days
From its junction with the U5390 extending in an overall south easterly direction for approx. 71 Om. Alternative route via: U5390 and A683.
9. Yans Lane, Storth - approx. duration 2 days

From its junction with Throughs Lane extending in a north easterly direction for a distance of approx 230m. No alternative route available.
10. Sycamore Avenue, Ulverston - approx. duration 2 days
From its junction with Lime Tree Road extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 130m. No alternative route available.
11. Benson Street, Ulverston - approx. duration I night
From its junction with Theatre Street extending in a westerly direction to its junction with Queens Street Alternative routes:-
East bound via Queen Street, County Road, Brewery Street; Fountain Street, King Street, Queen Street and Theatre Street
West bound: via Theatre Street, County Square, County Road, Brewery Street, Fountain Street, King Street and Queens Street
12. Fairfield Road, Windermere - approx. duration 3 days
From its junction with Umethwaite Road extending in a south easterly direction for its entirety. No alternative route available.
13. C5105 Busk Lane, Sedbergh - approx. duration 5 days
From its junction with Station Road extending in an overall easterly direction to its junction with Loftus Hill.
