THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (A607I AND B7076 GUARDS MILL TO SARK BRIDGE, NEAR GRETNA) [TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2020

THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (A607I AND B7076 GUARDS MILL TO SARK BRIDGE, NEAR GRETNA) [TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2020

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Balfour Beatty Civil Engineering Ltd to carry out carriageway repairs ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following lengths of road;

Phase I - A607I Guards Mill Bridge, near Gretna from its junction with the CI022, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 270m;

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the A607I, A7 Longtown,Jct44,A689,CI022.

Duration: From 4 September 2020 for 2 nights between 1900 hours and 0600 hours.

Phase 2 - B7076, near Gretna from its junction with the CI022 extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 180m; Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the B7076 Glasgow Road, B7076 Gretna Loaning, C1002 and the A6071. Duration: From 9 September 2020 for 4 nights between 1900 hours and 0600.

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:

1. Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and



2. Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and



3. Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the roads; and

The Order will come into operation on 4 September 2020 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
