THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (U209I THE WENT, DEARHAM] [TEMPORARY ONE-WAY TRAFFIC RESTRICTION) ORDER 2021
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that due to the likelihood of danger to the public, as a result of the increased traffic flow due to vehicles Vat running' along The Went, Dearham and avoiding the appropriate signed diversion route whilst works are ongoing on Main Street and Central Road, Dearham, the County Council of Cumbria has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding other than in a south westerly direction along that section of the U209I The Went, Dearham, from its junction with the Main Street, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 850m. A suitable alternative route for North East Bound Vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted section of The Went, A594 Dovenby, C2038, C2003 Tallentire and the unrestricted section of Main Street, Dearham. N.B.
(i) This follows 2 emergency notices dated 02 February 2021 and 23 February 2021: and
(ii) Due to the associated visibility splays not being available and causing a potential hazard when exiting a private access onto the road , the one-way restriction will not apply to motor vehicles requiring access/egress to and from the rear of No.103 Main Street, Dearham but only as and when it is deemed safe to do so. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for 3 months and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
