THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (SOUTH STREET FOOTBRIDGE, COCKERMOUTH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS AND CYCLISTS) ORDER 2021
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Cumbria Highways to carry out works to the bridge {"the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit pedestrians and cyclists from proceeding along the entire length of South Street Footbridge, Cockermouth, between Cocker Lane and Croft Terrace/Rubby Banks Road.
A suitable alternative route for pedestrians and cyclists will be available via Croft Terrace, South Street, Gallowbarrow, Sullart Street, Main Street, Market Place, Kirkgate and Cocker Lane. Any queries to the Highways Hotline 0300 303 2992 or email

The Order will come into operation on 14 April 2021 and may continue in force for a period of up to six months from that date as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed, although it is anticipated that it will only be required for I day.
