Morangie is a luxury family home of exceptional quality, light and airy with a fantastic flow, high-spec fixtures and fittings and a superb living kitchen.

With four bedrooms and a large private back garden, it has been the cherished family home of Tessa Milner, her son and her fiancé Andrew Cockburn for two years.

Tessa, who runs Andessa Jewellery on Cockermouth's Main Street, loves her home as is evident when she talks about it.

"Morangie has been our fabulous family home since 2016, when we moved here having been flooded down in the town centre the previous winter," she said.

"We arrived on a chilly but bright winter's morning and within 10 minutes literally had said, 'We'll take it'. I was even so excited by the glorious bathroom and its modern fabulous freestanding bath that, in front of the estate agent, I kicked my shoes off and climbed in it (fully clothed!) to check I could stretch out fully, which at 5ft 2in was more than the case,

"Furthermore Andrew had reported the garage would house the bike collection so SOLD it was!

"The flooding was certainly a top motivation and key priority in our moving to this lovely (high up and without a river) village that boasts the most amazing sea and fell views, especially from the top of Tallentire Hill.

"We are a big extended family with four kids, and a grandson between us and with weekly full family meals being a huge part of our lives, we needed a property that could accommodate the chaos, fun and noise we all create.

"The wish-list was for an easy, open-plan, large, sociable, modern family living space, with room for everyone’s cars on the drive and for the grown-ups a garden or outside spaces that made the most of the sun.

"Morangie strikes gold and really does tick all these boxes. The downstairs offers space for our multiple sofas so you can snuggle up in front of the log-burner, or put your feet up sitting next to the patio doors opening on to the back garden and chill out while watching another spectacular sunset over the Solway.

"We have a huge breakfast bar plus our eight-seater dining table in the massive kitchen which makes for great parties -we’re certainly not able to make the excuse that there is no room round our table for the whole family at Christmas!

"The garden is an absolute dream, it’s very private and gets the sun day and night. I personally love the fact that the house is all windows and light, even on a murky day.

"The property has been extended greatly from its original build in the 1980s. The modernisation and full renovation was carried out and completed not long before we bought it so there is not finger to lift in terms of DIY.

"There are four double bedrooms, one with an en-suite, but the master bedroom for me is the one with the large walk-in wardrobe, which we have added since we arrived. I mean, where’s a girl to keep all her shoes?

"Not that there wasn’t enough storage already - there’s a huge double airing cupboard, second airing cupboard plus another double built-in wardrobe.

"On a very important note to families with data monsters in residence, the broadband speed in Tallentire is totally up to scratch for gaming PCs and film streaming and the property is hardwired throughout for audio/TV and computer systems, which means nothing to me other than 'it all works great’ and I get peace!

"The village itself is peaceful, friendly and has some great walks, plus a pub which organises some fun events and gets the locals out in force, Christmas carols evening is always packed and a great way to meet everyone!"
