Children at Ewanrigg Junior School in Maryport had prizewinning fun to mark World Book Day.
Pupils voted for the best dressed girl and boy in each class during their non-uniform day, with the winners each receiving a new book as their prize.
The school then held a book swap, with children donating old books they no longer wanted and every child being allowed to choose a book to take home.
The children also paired up with pupils in other year groups and took it in turns to read to each other.
