Maryport children are to design a colourful new entrance to the town centre.
The project to redecorate Mill Race Lonning, the link between the Senhouse Street and the free car park, will be led by Netherhall School with the help of children from Maryport Junior School, Ewanrigg Junior School and Our Lady and St Patrick's Primary School.
Ideas to brighten up the deteriorating mosaic include showing some of the new shops in town including Lidl and depicting the history of the town including its links with the Titanic.
The work has been organised by Maryport Town Council using part of a £10,000 community grant from Allerdale council.
