Fridges are off at the Sainsbury's superstore in Carlisle.
The Church Street store opened at 7am this morning, but it's unclear when the problem was discovered.
Bosses have alerted customers to the issue by placing a notice in store.
It reads: "Due to a refrigeration breakdown these products are currently unavailable for sale.
"We apologise sincerely for any inconvenience caused."
A Sainsbury’s spokesman told the News & Star: “Due to refrigeration problems, unfortunately no fresh or frozen items will be available at our Carlisle superstore today.
“We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and working to get the store back to normal as quickly as possible.”
