A YEAR'S supply of ale is up for grabs at the annual beer festival organised by Cockermouth Round Table.

The fun starts on Thursday and will continue until Saturday. New for this year is a raffle with a top prize which a beer drinker could only ever dream about.

There will be over 60 real ales - mainly Cumbrian, as well as ciders, prosecco and gin.

The action, which raises funds for various local charities and good causes, will take place at the Kirkgate Centre.

Thursday night is quiz night, on Friday there will be live music from the Hoochie Coochie Moonshine Band. Both evenings run from 7pm to 11pm.

On Saturday, the festival is open from noon to 4pm and 7pm to 11pm, with music in the evening from Mojo Rising.

New for this year is a hot food stand.

Tickets cost £8 (Saturday afternoon £4) and are available from The Swan, The Bitter End, The Cock n Bull, Jennings Brewery and the Kirkgate Centre.
