Whitehaven Amateurs Reserves continued their form in the Smurfit Kappa Cumberland County League after the festive break with a 4-3 home win against Workington Reds Juniors thanks to a Kian Goulding hat-trick and another goal from Ben Powell.

Crown Newlaithes provided the surprise of the day at Bransty in Division One with a 2-1 victory courtesy of an own goal and a late Luke Firth winner which cancelled out Jamie Thursby's goal.

A high-scoring game at Silloth against Borough saw the game end 7-3. Andrew Marshalsea, Jordan Lee and Gareth Winter notched the Borough goals with Silloth scoring through an Adam Carr brace, Andy Hardman, Kris Nichol, Kieran Little, Spencer Irving and an own goal.

In the Premier Division, Carlisle City Development entertained Aspatria and came away with a 6-3 victory. Ryan Holmes scored three for City, with other goals from Michael Gilsenan, Ryan Scott and Josh Morley. Aspatria skipper Daryl Creighton scored twice while Will Hodgson also notched.

Whitehaven Miners entertained Cockermouth in the Conway Cup, with the latter coming away with a 5-2 victory. Cockermouth took the lead with a Nick Wood penalty and further goals from Callum West, Wood, Brian Straughton and Rob Cox sealed progression. Dylan Elsworth and Ryan Stanborough twice pulled Miners back into the game.

The Benevolent Cup tie between UniSun and Gosforth turned out to be a 6-1 win for the away team thanks to Matthew Pierce, Ellis Carr, Reece Fretwell and a Jack Denwood hat-trick. As well as taking the ball home for his three strikes, Jack also added an unwanted fourth when he put the ball into his own net.
