Tributes have flooded in via Facebook to Enzo Franco, manager of the Terrace Bistro at Cockermouth's Trout Hotel.

Mr Franco, of Great Broughton, died suddenly on Sunday, January 6. He was 62.

Commenting on a post on the hotel's page, Suzanne Elsworth wrote: "Such sad news, and such a shock. We only saw him last week.

"I'll miss his cheery hello as he passed our house.

"Condolences to the family and all the team there."

Denise Jackson said: "Sad news, top bloke and very funny guy.

"Had some great times with Enzo at the Trout. RIP Enzo."

Sallie Fisher wrote: "He was a lovely man ALWAYS made you feel welcome."

Mike English shared: " I met Enzo during the redevelopment work after the floods. He was such a nice guy.

"Sympathy to his family and friends."

Becca Canfield added: "We are so sorry to hear this sad news. Our thoughts are with you, Enzo’s family and friends.

"We have known him for over 10 years from being regulars at the Trout. He really was a gentleman and truly lovely. The Trout will not be the same with out him.

"You're all in our thoughts and prayers."

Suzanne Cashman said: "Such sad news. Enzo was such a lovely man with a great personality.

"Thoughts go out to all his family, friends and work colleagues."

Manuel Marcano-Olivier wrote: "A true gentleman and definitely the face of the Terrace.

"Arriverderci mio amico you will be missed."
