Police are reminding people to secure their vehicles after reports of a suspicious individual trying car doors in Whitehaven.
Officers were called at around 7.30pm yesterday to reports in the area of Haig Avenue, Bransty.
A police spokesperson said: "Police would remind the public to make sure their vehicles are secure, parked in a well-lit area or in a garage where possible, and any valuable items removed, consider installing an alarm or immobiliser and report any suspicious activity."
The unknown man was seen on the street at approximately 5am trying doors of vehicles in the area.
He is described as slim, aged between 18 – 24, wearing a dark hoodie, dark tracksuit bottoms and gloves.
Anyone with any information or witnessed this incident is asked to contact police quoting log 180 of January 15.
