The shop at Carlisle’s Cumberland Infirmary is set to reopen next week, following a major refit.

The Amigo’s store, opposite the Costa coffee shop in the hospital atrium, is currently closed while the work is carried out.

It is popular with staff as well as patients and visitors to the hospital.

The North Cumbria University Hospitals NHS Trust confirmed that it is due to reopen on Thursday, February 14.

Once refurbished, the shop will stock a wider range of chilled snacks, meals and some products from the Co-op range.

There will also be the introduction of a Costa express coffee machine inside the store and self-service check outs.

In the meantime, refreshments are available from the Costa coffee shop in the atrium and the canteen are on the bottom floor.

Once complete, the shop will be open daily, selling various goods.
