Freemasons in Workington has donated £250 to help fund activities for children in care.
St John's Lodge donated the cash to independent fostering agency Community Foster Care.
The charity, based at Peart Road, Workington, will use the cash to fund activities for the children its carers look after.
Loren Hannah, supervising social worker with Community Foster Care, accepted the cheque from mason Mark Gibson.
She said: “We’re really grateful to the St John’s Lodge. Their cheque will help provide children with lots more great opportunities and fun life experience.”
The not-for-profit agency provides foster carers for children all over Cumbria.
Foster carers come from all walks of life and can be male or female, single, married or divorced. They must be over 25 and in generally good health.
There are more than 600 children in care in Cumbria.
