Pets at Home have partnered with two animal charities to make a difference.
Support Adoption for Pets and Animal Concern received £2005 each from Pets at Home in Workington which was raised by their Santa Paws campaign.
Siobhan Harkness from Pets at Home said: "We help raise money for local animal charities in our area."
As well as efforts from the store, funds were generated by Animal Concern's presence in-store. Jan Heaslip of Animal Concern Cumbria West said: "The volunteers were absolutely fantastic."
She said: "We got fired-up."
Pets at Home are partnered with Support Adoption for Pets, rescued animals can be adopted from the store with a donation to the charity.
Jan Heaslip said: "Some were here for 8 hours volunteering."
Siobhan Harkness said: "We get a lot of customers waiting for Santa Paws." She said: "It's the most money we've ever made over the Christmas period."
Jan Heaslip was grateful for the response to the fundraiser: "It was such a great amount, we want to say thanks to the community."
The money will go towards shelter and essentials for rescued pets including new collars and leads.
