A WEST Cumbrian charity has unveiled the location and main sponsor for its main fundraising event.

Hospice At Home West Cumbria announced in January it will hold Kapow! Superhero Challenge, which sees participants tackling giant inflatable obstacles.

And now the charity has revealed the new event will take place on July 6 at Cockermouth Rugby Club and the main sponsor will be James Walker.

Mark Brook, manufacturing director at the company, said: “James Walker and all its employees are proud to support Hospice at Home West Cumbria once again. As a local charity, all money raised by them stays in this area and supports local people and the community – our employees and their families. Most of us know someone who has received support from them and we think they do a fantastic job. We are all really looking forward to the event and we hope it raises a great amount for the charity – we are sure it will be a brilliant day.”

Stella Walsh, event organiser said, said: “We are thrilled to be working with James Walker and its employees once again and we can’t thank them enough for supporting our new fundraising event. The company were a main sponsor of our 2018 Colour Run and have been great supporters of our charity over the past few years, with staff holding various fundraising events to support us.”

Kapow! will replace the charity’s Colour Run, which was held at Muncaster Castle for the last five years.

Mini colour runs for primary school pupils will continue to be held in 2019.

Tickets are on sale through the charity’s website www.hospiceathomewestcumbria.org.
