The children of a woman who died unexpectedly are raising money to pay for her funeral.

Dianne Milfull died on Friday, leaving four children: Sophie, 21, Shannon, 17, and five-year-old twins Jayden and Joshua.

Miss Milfull, who was 39 and had recently moved to Low Moresby, did not have life insurance and had not made any funeral preparations so her children have launched an online fundraising page to cover the costs of her funeral. So far £1,700 has been raised, with more than 50 donations, and the family have set a target of £3,500.

Sophie said: “It’s not something you really think about when you’re 39 and in the prime of your life. It would mean a lot for us to know that even though she didn’t really have any plans set we managed to come together, not just her family but her friends, to give her the funeral she deserves.”

Miss Milfull was a former pupil at Ehenside School in Cleator Moor then Wyndham School in Egremont. She worked as a home carer.

Passionate about cars, shoes and shopping, she was always happy to help and left a big impression on everyone she met.

Since Miss Milfull’s death, the family has received offers to provide flowers and help out with the funeral, as well as plenty of messages of support and stories.

“The amount of messages we’ve had as a family has been amazing,” Sophie added. “It’s not just people messaging to say they’re sorry for our loss; they’re taking the time to share stories about her.

“For me it’s been comforting to know what she meant to people.

“Everybody instantly loved her as soon as they met her.

“You couldn’t miss her and her car. She loved her Subaru to bits; it was her pride and joy.

“She was welcoming to everybody and would never say no to them. If you rang her at 3am and asked for a chat she would always be there to help.”
