Two women from Allerdale received medals for their dogs at Crufts this year.
Eleanor Ellwood from Great Clifton and Susan Briant of Broughton Moor entered Crufts 2019 and their dogs walked away with three awards between them.
Their owners ensure they were well-groomed and in prime condition to be inspected by a judge.
Mrs Briant’s dog, Sufayre Angel’s Kiss won in the best bitch category. Eleanor Ellwood’s dog, Sufayre Angel’s Faith won reserve best bitch and best veteran in breed.
Dogs are given ‘show names’ to distinguish their breed, however, when they are at home, they are affectionately named Kiss and Faith. The dogs are from the same kennel.
Eleanor Ellwood said: “Throughout the year we travel up and down the country to champion and open shows.
“Mrs Briant has been showing 50 years and I’ve been showing 20 years this is my most successful year.”
Following their Crufts win, they will compete in an open show on Sunday March 17 at Penrith Leisure Centre.
