A popular sports festival will return to Workington later this year.

Workington Town Council will once again host Workington Go with activities including street art, archery, panna football, cheerleading, boxing, football coaching and games.

New for 2019 is the the Atlantis inflatable at the leisure centre pool, healthy eating cookery demonstrations by Helen’s Herbs, craft activities by Crafty Kidz West Cumbria and face painting by Moss Bay Arts.

Councillor Joan Wright, chair of the town council’s culture committee, said: "This annual event is an opportunity to try new activities and sports completely free of charge and all sessions are led by professional instructors.

"Our aim is to get people out of the house and active and as this event has such a variety of activities, there is something for everyone."

New Balance and Sport England supported Workington Go with additional funding.

The festival will take place at Vulcan Park, Hall Park and Workington Leisure Centre from 11am to 4pm on Saturday, May 18.
