TWO West Cumbrian men who have been accused of burgling a Lake District tourist attraction are due to appear before a judge.
Nathan James Dryden and Lewis James Smith, both of Whitehaven, appeared at the magistrates' court in Workington on Friday to answer the charges relating to burglaries at Honister Slate Mine.
Dryden, of Castlerigg Close, was charged with entering the attraction as a trespasser and stealing £3,340 on December 4 and stealing £100 on December 12. He was also accused of entering Honister Slate Mine on December 7 with intent to steal.
Smith, of Latrigg Road, was charged with stealing £100 from the attraction on December 31.
Neither of the defendants entered a plea and the case was referred to the crown court.
They were remanded on unconditional bail and they are due to appear at Carlisle Crown Court on April 23.
