Lamplugh Art Group will hold an exhibition and sale of work this weekend – and it will probably be the last one organised by the group’s leader of nine years, Sandra Cooper, who is preparing to move away from the area.

Sandra says the exhibition is her great pleasure, seeing the rewards of the hard work and commitment of the group. Its work covers a wide range of subjects in different media providing something for everyone to enjoy.

During the event, she aims to raise much-needed funds from the proceeds of painting sales, raffle tickets and refreshments to help rebuild the venue, Lamplugh Village Hall.

Sandra intends to donate some of her paintings, and other art group members will also make various donations from the sale of their work.

Over the nine years Sandra has met many talented artists, some joining the group with little or no previous painting experience. She has watched members develop and grow in confidence. There are currently more than 20 members.

The event will take place on Saturday, April 20 from 10am to 5pm and Sunday, April 21 from 11am to 4pm. The raffle will be drawn at 3pm on Sunday.
