A MAN accused of possessing an imitation firearm is due to go on trial.
Billy Wildgoose, 25, appeared at Carlisle Crown Court today and denied two charges.
One alleges he was in possession of an imitation firearm - a Walther PC88 air pistol - with intent to cause fear of violence, on September 7. That charge goes on to allege it caused a man "to believe that unlawful violence would be used against him".
The second alleges he perverted the course of public justice, by posting on Facebook, on April 8, "extracts from a video interview transcript being used as evidence in a current criminal case".
Wildgoose, of Hunday Court, Workington, will face trial in early June. Until then he will be remanded in custody.
