A CARE home has been rated good in all areas following an inspection.

Granville Court residential home in Station Road, Maryport, was visited by Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspectors last month. The watchdog has now published a report of its findings.

The home received ‘good’ ratings in each section, and an overall rating of ‘good’.

Granville Court looks after 12 residents. It does not provide nursing care.

Inspectors said: “People told us they felt safe and staff had received suitable training about protecting vulnerable adults. The provider had good arrangements in place to ensure that new members of staff had been suitably vetted and that they were the right kind of people to work with vulnerable adults. Accidents and incidents were responded to appropriately.”

The report said residents also praised “lovely, kind staff”. It added: “People and their relatives told us staff understood their needs.

“People told us they enjoyed the activities, interests and hobbies on offer.”

The home was said to be warm, clean and comfortable.
