A CARE home that looks after complex dementia patients has been praised by national inspectors.
The Carlyle Suite at Lanercost House, Berkley Grange, Carlisle, was visited by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) as part of the watchdog’s routine inspections.
It found that the home was performing well in all areas, achieving a rating of “good”.
The unit cares for up to 15 residents, all with complex needs as a result of dementia.
The report, which has just been published, said: “Relatives were very positive about the caring nature of staff and the quality of care people received. Relatives described their family members as happy and relaxed.
“Systems were in place and followed so people were safe. People received their medicines as prescribed. The home was clean. There were enough staff to meet people’s needs.”
