LUXURY footwear and bag retailer Gina Ricci is on the market for a guide price of £850,000 after its owners decided to retire from running the Windermere-based store.

The brand has been trading for more than 25 years and its current owners took on the shop 15 years ago.

Now Edwin Thompson Chartered Surveyors has been instructed to market the building, which includes a three/four-bedroom maisonette.

The business, on Crescent Road, is renowned for designer brands and has been shortlisted for the 2019 Independent Footwear Retailer of the Year award.

During the last five years, it has been named in the top five independent shoe shops in the country voted by Drapers Footwear UK.

The property includes the 952sq ft ground floor shop with basement stockroom and a first and second floor three/four bedroom apartment.

The shop is split into three retail areas in an L-shape. It has separate entrances on Crescent Road and Beech Street.

An Edwin Thompson spokesman said: “Gina Ricci benefits from a significant visitor trade as well as a long-standing customer base.

“The shop has been refurbished to a high-quality standard in recent years, with a return frontage to Beech Street.”

Suzie Barron, commercial agency surveyor at Edwin Thompson, added: “This is a fabulous opportunity to purchase a well-established luxury footwear business in the heart of the Lakes.

“Freehold properties in these prime areas rarely come to the market, particularly with an outstanding business which has and continues to grow from strength to strength.”
