A ROAD will be closed for three weeks as the next stage of major scheme begins in Halliwell.
Engineers will close Astley Street until Tuesday, May 28, as part of an ongoing project to replace an ageing gas main below Blackburn Road.
The work is being completed by Cadent, the company which manages the North West gas network, and is expected to cause severe disruption to drivers.
The initial stages of the project began in late April and delays are expected to hit sections of Blackburn Road, between Halliwell Road and Newnham Street, until November 5.
