MOTORISTS have been warned ahead of two weeks of overnight closures on St Peter's Way beginning on Monday.
It comes as Bolton Council plan to carry out essential maintenance work, including repairing and improving drainage on the key route into Bolton.
During the duration of the project, which ends on Thursday, May 23, the full length of St Peters Way - between Topp Way and the Kearsley Spur and including all slip roads - will be closed each night from 10pm until 6am.
Signs and diversions will be in place along the road to inform drivers of alternative routes.
During previous closures, motorists have been diverted through Farnworth and onto Manchester Road.
The project is being completed at night in an effort by the council's highways department to avoid disrupting large numbers of drivers.
It follows a string of planned closures which saw the A-road shut overnight on six occasions, stretching from April 2018 until March 2019.
These were to allow engineers to complete routine maintenance and cleaning across sections of the road.
