A COUNCIL is investigating a restaurant which claims to be selling AARDVARK pizza - as food inspectors were apparently seen there demanding information.
Indian Accent added the unique pizza to its menu and suggested it featured a topping of the nocturnal mammal native to Africa.
The dish, also containing chicken, lamb and chillies, is being sold at the eaterie in Kilmarnock for between £6.50 and £11.50.
Head chef Anser Anton, 43, went public with the bizarre meal on Wednesday saying he ''wanted to bring unique flavours to the people''.
But on the same day East Ayrshire Council said they were investigating the diner. And at 3pm on Wednesday a woman in a white coat and hair net was seen talking to staff.
One customer said: ''It was really bizarre."
