A 24-HOUR Baby Sharkathon is being attempted in West Cumbria in aid of disadvantaged children.

Children’s entertainment company Imagination Parties is behind the event, attempting to perform the popular Baby Shark song for 24 hours straight.

The singing and dancing endurance task began on Friday morning has seen them perform Baby Shark around four times an hour, equating to 100 performances. They are due to finish on Saturday morning.

Staff of imagination parties donned their mermaid costumes and appeared in venues around Cumbria to perform their rendition of Baby Shark.

They even held real baby shark eggs at the Lake District Coast Aquarium in Maryport.

Imagination Parties’ mermaids surfaced at Dunmail Park for a performance, live on CFM.

They also visited Billy Bears and Woody’s of Flimby where they received a generous donation to the cause.

Woody’s raised funds by selling £1 raffle tickets. Participants were given the chance to win cakes and a breakfast for two.

And they stayed for a milkshake and cheesecake break to fuel up for the endurance test.

The campaign recieved help from Friday Friends for Everyone, a youth club in Moresby.

IPC visited “The Hatch” at Moresby Churh Hall. Shark themed activities were hosted and admission was donated to the Cash For Kids fund.

For a £1 entry fee, the children were given cakes, drinks, biscuits and a show from the Imagination Parties mermaids.

Becky Bakes provided cupcakes for free and a total of £62 was raised.

Efforts are all in aid of CFM’s Cash For Kids.

Simone Hetherington said: “We wanted to raise £100 and we’ve done that already.”
