A series of fun running and cycling obstacle races will take place in Keswick on Friday as part of the town's mountain festival.

The Keswick Town Trials are sponsored by United Utilities and Allerdale Borough Council and will be held in the town centre from 5pm.

Participants will tackle short-lapped loops of Market Square and its alleyways, in waves of up to 30 adults or children.

Runners and cyclists will have to negotiate sharp corners, zig-zags, steps, ramps and hay bales.

Registration will be at George Fisher from 3.30pm to 4.45pm, the entry fee is a donation to KMF’s official charity partner the National Trust.

Following the trials, at 6.20pm, there will be a parade with Batale Samba to the Festival Village.
