A popular free fun day will return to Workington on May 18.

Workington Go day is back for the third year, organised by Workington Town Council.

A variety of free events will be provided in Vulcan Park, Hall Park and Workington Leisure Centre.

New for this year is an Atlantis inflatable that will cover the whole of the Leisure Centre's pool.

Emma Chapman, from the council said: "The event gets bigger and bigger each time. The first year 140 people booked sessions, the second year 350 booked sessions and so far this year 340 have booked sessions already.

"We know that activities for the eight to 12-year-olds was great, but we needed something for the little ones, which we have this year with circus skills, craft activities and face painting."

People can choose from a range of activities such as canoeing/snorkelling, archery, panna football, cheerleading, football, boxing, bowling, climbing wall, racket ball, miniature train rides, circus skills and street art.

There will also be cookery demonstrations with free tasters and craft activities and face painting for the children.

GLL are supporting the event with free activities at Workington Leisure Centre and New Balance and Sport England has also provided additional funding for this event.
